Focused on Indigenous Foods Education, Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, and the Creation of Educational Resources and Learning Experiences.

The team at Qwustenuxun Consulting strives to help create a better future for the generations yet to come by facilitating meaningful conversations about the histories, systems, and ongoing impacts that Indigenous Peoples continue to face today. Together, we work to open the door for relationship building, cultural humility, and a broader understanding of the challenges Indigenous communities navigate within modern systems.

By working with teams to explore topics such as the value of food prior to contact and its influence on wealth, governance, culture, and language, we help shed light on how deeply connected Indigenous food systems are to identity, land stewardship, and community well-being. We also examine how ongoing settler colonialism continues to impact Indigenous foods and food systems today. Through this work, organizations can move toward building healthier and more respectful relationships with Indigenous Peoples, Indigenous foods, and the Indigenous lands they live and work upon.

The modern world we live in has been built upon vast and dynamic Indigenous civilizations that have cared for these lands since time immemorial. While many see busy streets and towering buildings, Indigenous Elders often see filled-in riverbeds, ancient village sites, and landscapes transformed through colonization. Moving forward in a good way requires us to honor both perspectives and recognize the histories that still live beneath our feet.
